The Palms History

The Designers

The course was designed by Fred Couples and Brian Curley.  This is Freddy's tenth course and the second collaboration with Brian.

The Property

This premier property is approximately 150 acres of a 200 acre ranch, located adjacent to the Weiskopf and Nicklaus Resort Courses at PGA West. The entrance is on Airport Avenue between Monroe Street and Avenue 58 in La Quinta, California. The Quarry is located two (2) miles southwest and The Plantation is two (2) miles north on Monroe.

The Golf Facility

The Palms is a core golf course, which features traditional design with dramatic bunkering, ample driving area, and smallish greens. More than 2,000 mature date palm trees give it a very mature look. The Palms has a state of the art practice facility, with a double-ended driving range, target greens, a fairway, an 8,000 square foot practice putting green, and a 12,000 square foot short game green for chipping, pitching, and bunker practice. The single-level clubhouse is approximately 18,000 square feet, which includes 5,000 square feet of cart storage.

Additional Information

The Palms is an equity club, member owned and operated. The single member membership structure eliminates the need for tee times. An individual guest is limited to six (6) visits per season, between November 1st through April 30th. All rounds are to be played in three hours fifty minutes or less.
